THIS POST: Tells you all you need to know about why you might want to hire a tour guide in Italy and why Milo Tours made our day!

Milo Tours, Guiding you around Italy

Mario from Milo Tours can do private tours around so many different parts of Italy….Naples, Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Sicily, Rome, Tuscany, Venice, Puglia, Florence, the list goes on.

Best of all, he will make them bespoke to exactly what you want. Want to miss out certain bits you’re not interested in? No problem. Just want to hit some beach clubs and do some boat trips? He’s got you. Not really sure what you want to see at all? Any problem? Mario will sort it.

Going on a Milo Tour in Italy

We managed to book a private, bespoke tour with Milo Tours very late in the game which was extremely lucky for us. Mario picked us up in his beautiful, swish, comfy car and we felt very swanky.

From then on, there was just the sense that you were being looked after, because nothing is too much for Mario. He has extensive knowledge of Italy and all of the places he will take you.

It also quickly became somewhat like being with an old friend, and we ended up sharing recipe ideas, life stories and our preferences on wine. (Mario’s olive and caper pasta recipe is to die for, make sure you ask him for that!)

Leonellis Beach Club Sorrento

The day after our tour, we even bumped into Mario again at this wonderful beach club he recommended (and kindly booked) for us. We got to meet his lovely wife Pinar and the children, the whole Milo crew!

Our Chosen Tour in Italy

The tour we chose with Milo Tours was a bespoke trip which included journeying around much of Campania. Mario drove us from Positano to Pompeii, and we hiked up Mount Vesuvius. To read my ‘Visiting Mount Vesuvius’ post, click here.

We had also wanted to visit a vineyard on the slopes of Vesuvius afterwards. There was one we had one in mind which we had researched, however Mario suggested he knew of a less touristy one, if we wished to try something different.

Therefore, we accepted and ended up having a truly memorable visit to a third generation family vineyard. Sorrentino Vesuvio was located on the slopes of Vesuvius and it was stunning!

There were only two other visitors here at the time and so it was definitely less touristy than the other one would have been. Here we had a tour of the vines, a beautiful lunch and wine tasting, all for €30!

The Dawesy Roundup of Milo Tours in Italy

We hadn’t originally planned on hiring a tour guide in Italy. But I’m really glad that we did and that we chose to spend both our money and time with Mario.

He really gave us a day out to remember. It also made everything so much easier than it would have been, had we tried to do it all ourselves (which is our usual way of doing things). Mario was also kind enough to take our picture in many different places.

It really helps to have a local show you around and advise on where is good to go when etc. Mario was such a fond part of our trip, and if you are thinking of doing a day trip or any sort of tour, Milo Tours is the way to go!
