The Setting at Il Tridente, Positano

We booked ahead to ensure that we could get a spot at Il Tridente. Unfortunately, all of the tables at the front edge of the terrace were already taken, but the view was still amazing.

When I look back at my photos of Il Tridente, I’m actually quite glad that there are some other diners in the view, as it gives you a good feel for the ambience.

Il Tridente Positano

Speaking of which, the ambience here is beautiful, lots of low light, candles, and the sparkling lights of Positano at night…It’s really beautiful. When we visited Il Tridente, there was also a guitarist who played lovely background music which really added to the experience.

I would recommend booking well in advance, especially during high season ( we visited at the very end of the season) and asking for a table at the very front of the terrace for the best view.

The Food, Service and Prices at Il Tridente, Positano

The service here was one of the most memorable of our trip, I would say. Really personable, our wonderful waiter had lots of time for us and I really had the impression he would do whatever he could to ensure we had a lovely time. Including convincing me to get up and sing a song with the resident in-house guitarist!

Il Tridente Positano

The food at Il Tridente was really beautiful. The prices aren’t exactly cheap, but it is a fantastic restaurant with a killer view which has a great reputation in Positano. You can’t really expect any different.

I had the Scialatielli Alla Norma which was €18 but absolutely delicious. I also MUST tell you that I am a tiramisu fiend….if tiramisu was on the menu, you could bet I tried it! And it must be said that Il Tridente’s tiramisu was the best out of the whole trip. It cost €12 but was worth every. Little. Cent.

Our night at Il Tridente came to just over €40 per person. This included main dishes, desserts, some glasses of wine and water. I think this isn’t bad value for money considering that everything was beautiful and it is such a fantastic way to spend an evening.

The Dawesy Roundup of Il Tridente

If I went back to Positano, I’d definitely visit Il Tridente again. I would probably save Il Tridente for a special day such as the first or last day of the trip. I’d also be interested in visiting during the daytime to see this view in a different light.

Il Tridente Positano

If you are heading to Positano, definitely add this place to your list. It’s not far from the centre and can be walked to, or you could hop in cab. It’s absolutely worth it!
