Best Restaurants In Florence – Do Not Miss!

I am obsessed with Florence!… A beautiful old town, incredible culture and of course…FOOD! Below are (in my opinion), some of the best restaurants in Florence.
1. Cibreo Cafe
No 1 of 6 in Best Restaurants in Florence
Address: Via Andrea del Verrocchio, 5R, 50122, Firenze. See their instagram here.
The first on the list is an absolute MUST visit. Cibreo Cafe oozes old Italian charm throughout and the pasta…wow. There is a dish on the menu which was listed amongst the top 25 pasta dishes in Italy by The New York Times. As in this is THE dish that the NYT tasted. and it was divine. A firm favourite and it was recommended to me by a friend who had lived in Florence. Note that Cibreo seems to span 2 buildings that are across the road from one another, I don’t know if there is a difference but one is called the cafe and one isn’t? Pasta dishes range from 15-20 euros and mains (meat and fish) sit around 30 euros. You need to book your table in advance!

2. Loggia Rooftop at Hotel Palazzo Guadagni
No 2 of 6 in Best Restaurants in Florence
Address: Piazza Santo Spirito, 9, 50125, Firenze. See their Instagram here.
This rooftop is sooooo pretty. It’s located over the bridge is Santo Spirito which is a bit of a vibe. This roof bar sits at the top of the Hotel Palazzo Guadagni and serves drinks and food. Its a lot of steps to the top or a cute teeny tiny elevator which fits two people in, so you will need to queue for it if it’s in use. We only had drinks but these come with a wonderful array of snacks and the food coming out of the kitchen looked great. But this place is all about the location and the view. Don’t miss this! A fab place for lunch and aperitifs, sipping a hugo spritz whilst sat here…What a way to while away an hour or so.

3. Ditta Artiginale – Sant’ Ambrogio
No 3 of 6 in Best Restaurants in Florence
Address: Via Giosuè Carducci, 2/4r, 50121, Firenze. See their instagram here.
I loved this coffee shop! They have a few branches across Florence however this one is quite big, it has their coffee academy inside, a beautiful pastry section and some nice dishes for breakfast (as well as banging coffee obviously!). Having a day job in specialty coffee in London myself, I sometimes like to get chatting to the baristas, especially if I see they got skillllssss. Cesare here competes in National Italian Barista competitions so he knows where it’s at!

4. Ciro & Sons
No 4 of 6 in Best Restaurants in Florence
Address: Via del Giglio, 28/r, 50123, Firenze. See their website here.
This was a really nice evening out with a really good pasta dish. Service was really friendly and I liked the vibe of the restaurant and the decor etc. It felt traditional but also had some modern touches too. It was cozy in the evening with candles, quite buzzy and as with most of the good places in Florence, I would recommend booking a table in advance here!

5. Vivoli Il Gelato
No 5 of 6 in Best Restaurants in Florence
Address: Via Isola delle Stinche, 7r, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy. See their instagram here
This is going to be the BEST affogato of your life, no doubt! It is unmissable for sure! Don’t be put off by the queue (which by the way I tested, and was there from opening to close) In my personal opinion, go for the original and not the hazlenut or any other fancy ones. The original is just phenomenal. Do not leave Florence without going here. Once I even went twice in the same day because I just couldn’t get enough…

6. Il Fratellini Sandwich Bar
No 6 of 6 in Best Restaurants in Florence
Address: Via dei Cimatori, 38/r, 50122 Firenze. See their instagram here.
I really liked this sandwich bar! They serve paninis and schiacciate (pronounced like ski-ah-chatta) which is like the best crispy Italian bread ever. There is no inside area, so it’s just a bar you walk up to and order but everyone hangs around on the streets and eats their sandwiches. There are cute wooden shelves built into the walls outside for you to put your aperol spritz or glass of vino while you eat. A mutitide of fillings are on offer and its not a bad price, 7 euro for a schiacciate!

I hope my list of best restaurants in Florence proves useful to you and that you enjoy the food as much as I did! Feel free to comment with any other restaurant suggestions which I may have missed.
