My Favourite Locations for Photography in Scotland 2024

Visiting Scotland is truly always an incredible experience. When I visit, my main aim (apart from just enjoying my time) is to get some incredible images! So here I am sharing some of my favourite locations to get an awesome photo or two on the Isle of Skye! Read on to see what I think are the best places to visit in Skye 2024.

1. Quiraing – Isle of Skye

Still my number 1. You can drive pretty much all the way to the top so if you’re feeling lazy but still want some incredible scenes, this is your place!

2. Old Man of Storr – Isle of Skye

An absolute classic and truly one of the best places to visit in Skye! Now this is quite a hike, it’s not too long maybe an hour or two ot the top, but it is quite steep and I found it quite tough. My friend annoyingly breezed his way up it, no problems *eye roll*.

3. Dunvegan Castle – Isle of Skye

This was a great castle to photograph with a drone. It had some really lovely angles along the waters edge and looked great from the sky. From the ground it was maybe less impressive, however it was a nice place to spend a couple of hours strolling around. There are really pleasant gardens to explore,

4. Neist Point Lighthouse – Isle of Skye

Well this is the day I very nearly waved goodbye to my drone forever. Note – it gets very windy here! This is a really nice place to pitch up for a couple of hours before sunset and watch the dreaminess unfold. Sunrise here would also be great. Even on a nice day the wind can be cutting, so come prepared for the weather!

The Roundup!

  • Great post, really keen to visit Dunvegan castle. It looks like something out of Game of Thrones. Glad to see your drone survived the wind, the images you captured are fantastic
