Looking For The Best Places to Visit in Italy?

The bar terrace of the Hotel Ceasar Augustus, located in the centre of Anacapri was recommended to us by our incredible hotel, amongst some other places. It did indeed turn out to be one of the best places to visit in Italy.

So we took the bus into Anacapri to have a stroll around and see what places were open and which ones looked good. And let me tell you, Hotel Ceasar Augustus looks very good!

We had been told that the terrace overlooked the Bay of Naples and boy does it! I’m so pleased we ended up choosing this location… it’s a hazy, dreamy, sun-soaked glorious expanse of joy.

It was the end of September, close to the end of the season. We walked in without a reservation and were shown to a table on the terrace.

Service and Snacks

The waiters had got it just right, you know that fine balance between being attentive but not annoying where you’re secretly using Matilda-esque powers to make them go away.

After ordering 2 espresso martinis, we were promptly given the largest array of beautiful snacks. I love this about Italy, you could honestly get away with not buying dinner, the snacks are unstoppable!

There was an array of salted almonds, fava beans, olives and macaroni croquettes. Mind you, the cocktails were 20 euros each so not on the cheap side. BUT the small feast and seriously insane view and setting made it more than worth it. 

If you’re on the island of Capri, then you must make a visit to Anacapri (if only to ride the awesome chairlift) and once you’re here, make sure you reserve time to spend at least an hour on this heavenly terrace. It really is one of the best places to visit in Italy. I could have happily stayed here all night. Let your wallets be warned!
